Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced a second attempted assassination attempt on his life, which allegedly took place on October 6, 2024. According to the Prime Minister, a loaded gun was found on the suspect.
He said this in an interview with the Standard.
The incident, according to Fico, occurred in the city of Dukla during the celebration of the anniversary of the Carpathian-Dukla operation during World War II. The event was attended by members of the government, members of parliament, and Slovak President Peter Pellegrini.
“We detained an aggressive person who is known to hate me for my views on Ukraine. He was carrying a weapon, but fortunately, he did not get into the area where we politicians were, but went to the spectator area. There he was stopped at the metal detector frame, and it was discovered that he had a fully loaded gun,” Fico said.
