This Friday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz plans to have a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This was reported by Bloomberg.
This call will be the first direct contact between Scholz and Putin in almost two years. The media first reported on Scholz’s intention to hold talks with the Russian leader back in October, when it became known that the possibility of such a telephone conversation was being considered before the G20 summit in Brazil in November. Later, Scholz himself confirmed his readiness to hold talks with Putin “soon.”
