A series of incidents involving explosions, sabotage, and drone strikes on industrial facilities and transport infrastructure have been reported across Russia over the past day.

In Perm Krai, a drone strike hit the Metafrax Chemicals plant. Preliminary reports suggest that the target was a new urea production workshop launched in 2023.

Meanwhile, in Leningrad region, a freight train derailed. According to regional governor Alexander Drozdenko, the incident occurred on the Strogonovo–Mshinskaya section in Luga district. A locomotive and 15 empty tank cars went off the tracks. There were no casualties, but train services in the area were halted and at least 10 commuter trains were delayed. Sappers are working on site, and investigators are considering sabotage as a possible cause.

In Oryol region on Saturday evening, three members of the Russian National Guard were killed by an explosive device planted on railway tracks. Authorities initially reported two deaths, but later confirmed that another seriously wounded serviceman had died in hospital.

Also in Leningrad region, the Kirishi oil refinery came under drone attack. Governor Drozdenko said three drones were shot down, but falling debris caused a fire on the facility’s territory. The blaze was quickly extinguished and no casualties were reported. The refinery is one of the largest in Russia, capable of processing up to 20 million tonnes of oil annually. The site was previously targeted by drones in spring 2025.

Russia’s aviation authority, Rosaviatsia, announced temporary restrictions on flight arrivals and departures at St Petersburg’s Pulkovo airport and at Nizhny Novgorod airport.

The Russian Ministry of Defence stated that during the night, air defenses destroyed and intercepted 80 Ukrainian drones across various regions: 30 over Bryansk region, 15 over annexed Crimea, 12 over Smolensk region, 10 over Kaluga, five over Novgorod, three over the Azov Sea, two over Leningrad region, and one each over Oryol, Ryazan, and Rostov regions.

These incidents are the latest in a growing series of attacks and acts of sabotage increasingly reported on Russian territory.
