Russian occupation forces launched a missile attack in Poltava region. The territory of one of the training units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces was hit.
According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there were no casualties, but there were wounded.
‘Thanks to timely and carefully considered security measures, the worst was avoided. A set of preventive actions, including the dispersal of personnel, the use of shelters and compliance with air raid safety protocols, saved the lives of the servicemen who were at the training ground at the time of the strike,’ the statement said.
The injured are being promptly provided with all the necessary qualified medical care. Doctors are doing everything possible for their speedy recovery, the military added.
‘A special commission has been set up to investigate all the circumstances of the incident and assess the damage caused. The results of the investigation will be made public upon completion of its work,’ the Land Forces concluded.
