The General Assembly of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has fully reinstated the status of the Russian Paralympic Committee. This was reported on the IPC website.
The vote was on whether to completely suspend the Russian committee or to continue partial restrictions. In both cases, the majority of delegates voted against.
Restrictions on the Russian Paralympic Committee have been in place since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Their lifting means that Russian athletes will once again be able to compete under their national flag.
For the past few years, Russians have only been allowed to participate in international tournaments as individuals and under a neutral status.
