Russian military sources report that Major General Mikhail Gudkov, former commander of the 155th Pacific Fleet Marine Brigade, was killed in a Ukrainian strike on a command post in the Sumy sector.

According to pro-Russian channels, the strike was carried out with four HIMARS rockets. Gudkov, who had recently served as Deputy Commander of the Russian Navy and remained actively involved with the marines on the front line, reportedly died alongside several senior officers.

Some Russian war correspondents claim that at least 10 Russian personnel were killed in the attack, with other sources mentioning up to 20 dead, including Gudkov’s deputy.

Photos of memorial flowers have appeared at Gudkov’s portrait on the main square in Vladivostok, where he was a highly decorated figure, officially recognized as a Hero of Russia.

Russian propagandist channels have begun circulating accusations that “traitors” inside the Russian military may have helped coordinate the strike, vowing retribution against those allegedly responsible.

There is no official confirmation from the Russian Ministry of Defence so far.
