        Russian commander ordered the beheading of fallen Ukrainian soldiers — General Staff

        In the Huliaipole sector, two servicemen from the 225th Separate Assault Regiment were ambushed and killed in combat. The commander of the Russian unit ordered the beheading of the fallen Ukrainian soldiers.

        This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

        The occupiers committed yet another war crime on May 12. Ukrainian defenders were ambushed by an infiltrated group of Russian troops. Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed during the battle.

        According to intelligence radio intercepts, the commander of the Russian Armed Forces unit gave the order to desecrate the bodies of the fallen soldiers.

        “The radio intercept reveals the commander ordering two heads to be cut off ‘for confirmation’ and placed in a conspicuous spot at the edge of the field. His subordinate expresses readiness to carry out this order,” the statement reads.

        The Russian military unit implicated in the crime has already been preliminarily identified. According to available information, the commander of this unit had previously ordered the mistreatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
