The resumption of trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States and Russia will not mean an end to hostilities or restrictions on military strikes. The Kremlin said Russian forces would continue attacking Ukraine despite agreements to resume negotiations.
This was reported by Interfax, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov made the remarks in response to a journalist’s question about the Kremlin’s reaction to an attack on Voronezh amid agreements to resume talks.
“The decision to resume trilateral negotiations does not imply any restrictions on military operations,” the Russian president’s spokesman said.
According to Peskov, Russian forces are continuing military operations and carrying out strikes against Ukraine.
“You know that our armed forces are continuing the special military operation, continuing to carry out massive and sustained strikes against Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, military and military-related targets,” he said.
The Kremlin also accused Ukraine of continuing hostilities.
Earlier, on the night of October 26, the Russian city of Voronezh came under a massive drone attack, with fires breaking out and explosions reported across the city. According to open-source reports, two people were killed and 17 others were injured. Among the reported targets were the VASO aircraft manufacturing plant, the Voronezhsintezkauchuk synthetic rubber plant and a business centre. There were also reports of possible damage caused by Russian air defence operations.
