Russian forces attacked a passenger train in the Kharkiv region with drones. The strike injured civilians and forced the evacuation of passengers.

Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksii Kuleba, said that Russia had struck a passenger train operating on the Barvinkove–Lviv–Chop route in the Kharkiv region.

According to preliminary information, the train was attacked by three Shahed-type drones. The impacts were recorded in front of the diesel locomotive and in a passenger carriage, causing a fire.

Reserve buses are being arranged for evacuated passengers, as well as transportation for those who had been waiting at stations for the return service. Coordination and assistance for passengers are being provided on site.

Kuleba said all emergency services are working at the scene, including medics, rescuers, and the Ukrzaliznytsia team. He stressed that the strike on a passenger train was a direct act of Russian terror against civilians and had no military objective.
