In the evening of April 8, from 21:00 to 23:00, Russian occupants launched about 20 strikes on the Osnovianskyi, Industrialskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi districts of Kharkiv.
This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
About ten private residential buildings were damaged in the Kyiv district. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, there were hits in the open area. Most of the strikes occurred in Osnovyansky district – about 15 hits were recorded.
“All the strikes were aimed at the industrial area. About five fires broke out over a large area. The affected enterprises include confectionery, small household items, paint and varnish, service stations and others – all civilian,” said Dmytro Chubenko, spokesman for the Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office.
According to the Kharkiv Oblast State Emergency Service, the area of the fires was about 1200 square meters. In the morning, the rescuers reported five victims.
“After such a massive shelling, the small number of victims is explained by the fact that the enterprises were not working at the time, only security guards were on site. Extensive damage was recorded. Administrative buildings, hangars, warehouses and production facilities were damaged. Large-scale fires broke out, a lot of property and cars were destroyed,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The enemy used Shahed-136 (“Geranium-2”) UAVs for the attacks. Parts of the drones are being seized as material evidence for future criminal proceedings in courts, including international ones, to prove Russia’s guilt in committing war crimes.
Criminal proceedings have been opened under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
