Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia is preparing a new massive strike on Ukraine. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the main targets may include energy facilities and logistics infrastructure.

This was reported by the Office of the President of Ukraine.

According to Zelenskyy, Moscow is counting on global attention being focused on the U.S. elections on November 3, while the situation in Ukraine, including difficulties with air defense and missiles for Patriot systems, moves into the background.

“We know from intelligence that Russia is preparing a new massive strike on our country, primarily on energy and logistics,” the president said.

Zelenskyy called on international partners to increase pressure on Russia, including on its revenues from oil and gas.

“We will definitely respond to the strike the Russians are preparing now,” he stressed.

The president also noted that in recent weeks Russian forces have changed their tactics of attacks on Ukraine’s energy sector. According to him, strikes are now targeting not only power generation facilities but also grids and the electricity distribution system.

Against the backdrop of constant attacks, repair crews and energy workers are restoring damaged infrastructure almost around the clock. Zelenskyy instructed the government to resume the program of monthly additional payments to workers involved in these efforts.

Separately, the president said that the death toll from Russian airstrikes on Komyshuvakha in Zaporizhzhia region had risen to 26. Five more people remain in hospital, while others are still trapped under the rubble.

The president said that Russian forces first attacked a school building that was being used to distribute humanitarian aid, and after people took shelter, they carried out a second airstrike with aerial bombs.

According to Zelenskyy, most of those killed were civilians who had come to receive humanitarian aid, as well as people who arrived to help after the first strike. Rescue operations in Komyshuvakha are ongoing.
