On the night of November 6, Russian troops attacked Ukraine’s railway infrastructure. The most affected areas were Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, where the Russians are trying to disrupt train traffic and logistical links between regions.
This was reported by the Minister of Community and Territorial Development, Oleksiy Kuleba.
Kharkiv region is under attack, where the enemy is trying to slow down connections with the east of the country. Trains have been rerouted to alternative routes and continue to run, Kuleba wrote.
In the Chernihiv region, the attacks were directed at routes important for communication with northern Ukraine, and in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the railway’s energy infrastructure and one of the stations. There, reserve locomotives are keeping traffic moving.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, railway infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia has also been damaged.
A number of trains heading east are running on altered routes with delays. These are the following trains:
- No. 102 Kherson – Gusarivka;
- No. 104 Lviv – Gusarivka;
- No. 712 Kyiv – Gusarivka;
- No. 92 Odesa – Gusarivka.
Train No. 733 Dnipro – Kyiv is also running with an auxiliary locomotive, with an estimated delay of less than an hour.
Due to damage in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia directions, delays of up to five hours are being recorded for the following trains:
- No. 31/32 Zaporizhzhia – Przemyśl;
- No. 119/120 Dnipro – Chełm, which also carries Pavlohrad – Kyiv trailer cars;
- No. 37/38 Zaporizhzhia – Kyiv.
Some suburban trains in the Sumy region, as well as from the Chernihiv region to Kyiv, will run late.
