Apple plans to equip the iPhone 18 Pro with a new A20 Pro processor, which is expected to become the first iPhone chip manufactured using a two-nanometer process. The upgrade could significantly improve the smartphone’s performance and energy efficiency.

The details were reported by MacRumors, citing Chinese leaker Fixed Focus Digital.

According to the source, the A20 Pro processor will be up to 18% faster and up to 30% more power-efficient than the A19 Pro chip used in the iPhone 17 Pro.

The new chip will be manufactured by Taiwan’s TSMC. It will be the first iPhone processor made using the company’s two-nanometer process, while Apple’s current mobile chips are manufactured using three-nanometer technology.

Smaller transistors allow more computing components to fit within the same area. As a result, the iPhone 18 Pro could perform demanding tasks faster while consuming less power. The new process may also extend battery life and reduce heat generation.

The leaker also claimed that Apple’s first foldable smartphone, referred to in leaks as the iPhone Ultra, will initially be available in very limited quantities. This could lead to shortages following its release.

Apple’s annual iPhone event is expected to take place in less than a month. The company has not officially confirmed the A20 Pro specifications or the name of its foldable model, so the information remains unofficial.
