Russia continues attacks on Ukraine’s civilian railway infrastructure. On the morning of February 2, the enemy carried out another strike on Ukrzaliznytsia facilities in the Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle was directed at a diesel locomotive that was at a station. At the time of the strike, the locomotive crew was in a shelter, and no one was injured.

The ministry noted that the railway performs a critically important function in transporting passengers, humanitarian cargo, and goods vital to the economy, which is why the enemy deliberately targets railway infrastructure. Ukrzaliznytsia reported that it is promptly eliminating the consequences of the shelling and, taking into account the difficult security situation, continues to ensure the stable operation of rail services, passenger transportation, and the delivery of cargo essential for the economy and humanitarian needs.
The ministry emphasized that such strikes are part of a systematic strategy of pressure by the terrorist state on Ukraine’s civilian logistics and life-support system.
