President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that rescue operations in Poltava have been completed. A Russian missile strike killed 14 people, including two children aged 9 and 12.

According to the State Emergency Service, three children, aged 7, 9 and 12, were killed in the attack.

According to Zelensky, another 20 people were injured, including four children, the youngest of whom is only three months old. Twenty-two people were rescued.

‘The entrance of the house was completely destroyed – from the first to the fifth floors. And this is just one Russian missile that has caused so much pain, suffering and loss,’ Zelenskyy said.

The President stressed that it was critically important for Ukraine to receive more air defence and missile defence systems, including Patriot, IRIS-T and other necessary defence equipment.

‘Air defence and a sufficient number of missile defence systems are a prerequisite for bringing peace closer,’ Zelenskyy stressed.
