U.S. President Donald Trump said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin “feels pressure” and wants to end the war. This is how he answered a journalist’s question about why, after speaking with Trump on July 4, Putin carried out a strike on Kyiv, as a result of which civilians were killed.

This is reported by Clash Report.

During a conversation with journalists in the Oval Office, Donald Trump was asked about Russia’s strike on Kyiv on July 6. The reporter noted that shortly after the conversation with Trump, which took place on July 4, Putin struck Kyiv, as a result of which civilians were killed, and asked why the Russian president does not feel pressure after communicating with the U.S. president.

“I think he does feel pressure. He wants to end it,” Trump replied.

He also said that the end of the war in Ukraine, in his opinion, is “much closer than people realize.”

“Putin wants it to end. I will tell you that very strongly. We had a good call,” Trump said.

According to the U.S. president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also wants the war to end.

“Zelensky actually wants it to end now,” he said.

Trump added that the United States will go to the NATO meeting, where this issue will be discussed.

“We’re going to be talking about it. And I think we’re going to get it ended,” the U.S. president said.
