On April 29, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, during a phone call with the U.S. president, stated his readiness to declare a ceasefire on May 9. Donald Trump supported the initiative.
This was reported by the Russian news agency TASS, citing Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov
Today, Putin held a phone call with Donald Trump that lasted over an hour and a half.
According to the Kremlin, Trump told Putin that an agreement to resolve the conflict in Ukraine is already close.
Putin, in turn, stated that the goals of the so-called “special military operation” would be achieved, but Russia allegedly would prefer to do so through negotiations.
“To resolve the situation in Ukraine through negotiations, Zelenskyy must respond positively to the well-known proposals outlined earlier,” the statement reads.
The Russian president also complained to Trump about the purely terrorist methods used in attacks on civilian targets
In addition, according to Ushakov, Putin briefed Trump on the situation in the combat zone, where, according to the Kremlin, Russian troops are “pushing back the enemy.”
