Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov held a series of meetings in Ankara with Turkey’s leadership. The parties discussed the security situation, the negotiation process, and coordination of further steps.

During the visit, talks were held with Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Head of the National Intelligence Organization İbrahim Kalın, and Chief Advisor to the President of Turkey on foreign policy Akif Çağatay Kılıç. The sides discussed the security situation, the course of negotiations, coordination of further steps regarding shared threats, and joint projects in the field of regional security.
Special attention was given to the humanitarian track, particularly the return of Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians, which remains a priority. According to Umerov, the meetings also helped coordinate approaches to further cooperation, while Turkey plays an important role as a partner and a platform for dialogue.
Umerov thanked the Turkish side for its support of Ukraine.
