The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed a protest note to the Russian Federation following an incident that occurred in the night from 19 to 20 August in the village of Osiny, Lublin Voivodeship. The incident involves the explosion of a drone, which Warsaw considers a violation of Poland’s sovereignty.

This was reported by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The document emphasizes that the incident contradicts Russia’s international obligations, particularly the provisions of the Treaty of Friendship and Good Neighborliness and the Convention on International Civil Aviation.

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the event as another deliberate provocation within the framework of Moscow’s hybrid actions against Poland and other European states. Warsaw demands immediate explanations from Russia, particularly regarding the reasons for the drone’s presence on Polish territory, and calls for an end to any hostile and provocative actions.

The Ministry recalled that responsibility for the consequences of such incidents lies entirely with Russia, which is simultaneously waging an aggressive war against Ukraine, resulting in hundreds of thousands of casualties and a gross violation of international law.
