German law enforcement officers have detained two Turkish citizens suspected of setting fire to a Starlink satellite communications ground station in Wola Krobowska, Poland. According to Polish Interior and Administration Minister Marcin Kierwiński, the case involves an act of sabotage and subversion.
This was reported by RMF24.
The fire at the Starlink ground station in Wola Krobowska, in Grójec County in the Masovian Voivodeship, occurred on the night of September 23-24.
Two days later, a prosecutor from the Masovian branch of Poland’s National Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation into an act of sabotage and a terrorist offence carried out on behalf of a foreign intelligence service.
Police said the men detained in Germany are awaiting transfer to Poland under a European Arrest Warrant procedure.
“Once they arrive in Poland, they will face charges of sabotage and subversion commissioned by a foreign intelligence service,” Kierwiński said.
The arrests were carried out by German services based on materials prepared by the Polish side — the police, the Internal Security Agency and the prosecutor’s office.
