The government is changing the rules for Points of Invincibility to ensure uninterrupted communication during blackouts. Each centre must have energy-independent internet via xPON technology or Starlink terminals.
This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
The availability of xPON or Starlink ensures that people can stay connected despite power outages.
As noted by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the difficult situation with electricity in Odesa confirmed that during power outages, people critically need access to the network, but it is not always available at the points.
‘The Points of Invincibility will have either xPON fibre-optic internet (which works without power for up to 72 hours) or Starlink satellite communication (which helps out where there are no cable networks),’ the statement said.
Each point will also have its own digital address, which will allow the network to be checked automatically.
