Orban goes to Georgia

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will pay an official visit to Tbilisi on 28-29 October, the press service of the Georgian government reports.

According to the press service, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will meet with the Hungarian Prime Minister on 29 October.

The meeting will also take place in an extended format with the participation of ministers of the two countries.

The day before Orban congratulated his Georgian counterpart on the victory of the ruling Georgian Dream party in the parliamentary elections immediately after the exit polls published in Georgia.

As the Hungarian prime minister wrote on social media, ‘the people of Georgia know what is best for their country.’


After processing data from 3,100 polling stations out of a total of 3,111, the ruling Georgian Dream has gained 54.08 per cent of voters. It is followed by four parties that broke the 5 per cent (passing threshold): ‘Coalition for Change’ with 10.92 per cent, “United National Movement” with 10.12 per cent, “Strong Georgia” with 8.72 per cent and “For Georgia” with 7.76 per cent.
