As a result of repatriation activities, the bodies of 757 fallen defenders have been returned to Ukraine. Among those returned are those killed in six frontline areas.
This was reported by the Coordination Center for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Ukraine managed to return the dead soldiers to Ukraine:
- Kurakhove direction;
- Pokrovsk direction;
- Bakhmut direction;
- Vuhledar direction;
- Luhansk direction;
- Zaporizhzhia direction;
- from morgues on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The transportation of repatriated fallen soldiers is carried out by the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The bodies are transported to designated state specialized institutions and handed over to law enforcement officials in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and forensic medical experts in the Ministry of Health.
“Law enforcement investigators, together with the expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will identify the victims as soon as possible,” the statement said.
