Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that five people are now confirmed dead in Kyiv following Russia’s overnight attack. According to him, around 40 people were injured in the capital.
“My condolences to the families and loved ones,” Zelenskyy said.
The president also reported that seven more people were injured in the Kyiv region, 28 people were wounded in Kharkiv, and two people were injured in the Odesa region.
According to Zelenskyy, 180 facilities across Ukraine were damaged, including more than 50 residential buildings.

He said that search and rescue operations are ongoing in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district after a strike on a residential building. Rescue workers are continuing to search for people trapped under the rubble.
“More than 10 people are considered missing,” the president said.
Recovery operations are also continuing in Kyiv’s Obolon district and in the Poltava region.
According to Zelenskyy, more than 750 emergency workers from the State Emergency Service and nearly 750 police officers have already been involved in response efforts across the country.
The president also reported that Russian FPV drones attacked a vehicle belonging to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Kherson.
According to Zelenskyy, Russian forces attacked the vehicle twice during a humanitarian mission. The head of the UN humanitarian coordination office and eight other staff members were inside the vehicle.
“Fortunately, no one was injured,” Zelenskyy said.
The president also stated that Ukrainian air defense forces shot down more than 93% of aerial targets during the mass attack.
“The most difficult thing is defending against ballistic missiles,” Zelenskyy stressed.
Zelenskyy called on international partners to increase sanctions pressure on Russia and not remain silent about Russian terror against Ukraine.
