Ministry of Justice restores operation of all major registries after Russian cyberattack

On January 10, the Ministry of Justice announced the full restoration of all key services of the Unified State Register (USR) portal, which were suspended after a large-scale Russian cyberattack.

The Ministry noted that the following functions are now available again:

  • Free search for information in the registry;
  • Formation of extracts;
  • Receiving the results of administrative services by access code;
  • Access of state bodies to information from the registry through access identifiers.

As a reminder, on December 19, Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olga Stefanishyna reported a cyberattack that affected state registers under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice. As a result, their work was temporarily suspended.

The SBU opened proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code – violation of the laws and customs of war. The main version is that the cyberattack was carried out by a hacker group of the Russian GRU.
