On the night of 5 March, Russian troops attacked Odesa region with drones and a ballistic missile, causing destruction and casualties.
According to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, the enemy struck Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district during an air raid. A missile hit the building of a sanatorium that was empty, destroying it almost completely.
The attack damaged critical infrastructure in Odesa, leaving part of the city without electricity, water and heat. Debris from the downed drones damaged private houses in the suburbs, causing a fire.
A 77-year-old man from the village of Limanka died as a result of shrapnel wounds.
