On April 15, an armed attack took place at a school in the Turkish city of Kahramanmaraş. Four people are reported to have been killed and 20 injured.
This was reported by CNN Türk.
According to preliminary information, the shooting was carried out by an eighth-grade student. One teacher and three students were killed in the attack.
The attacker arrived at the school with five firearms and seven magazines. He first fired into the air in the schoolyard and then opened fire in two classrooms. Among the dead are reportedly the attacker himself, two students, and a teacher.
According to preliminary data, the attacker’s father is a former police officer, and the boy likely took the weapons from him.
Medical and law enforcement personnel were dispatched to the scene. The prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation. This is the second such incident at a Turkish school in two days: the day before, in the neighboring province of Şanlıurfa, a former student opened fire at a high school, injuring 16 people.
