        Lufthansa finds Russian director’s missing Oscar statuette: What we know

        Lufthansa has announced that it has found the Oscar statuette that Russian director Pavel Talankin received for his film “Mr. Nobody vs. Putin.” The award went missing during his flight from New York to Frankfurt.

        The award in question is for Best Documentary Film, “Mr. Nobody vs. Putin,” which Russian director Pavel Talankin received this year. The statuette went missing during Talankin’s flight from New York to Frankfurt.

        The company noted that it conducted an internal search “with the utmost care and urgency.” Subsequently, Lufthansa reported that the statuette is in Frankfurt.

        The airline promised to return the award to its owner “as soon as possible.”

        At the same time, Lufthansa did not explain exactly how the statuette went missing on board the plane, adding that an internal investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.

        The company also apologized to the award’s owner for the incident.
