Local quarantine measures may be introduced in Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Khmelnytsky, and Chernivtsi regions due to the increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections.
This was reported by the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Health explained that the restrictions may include switching to distance learning in certain classes, reducing the number of visitors in public places, and other anti-epidemic measures.
Over the past week, 171,068 cases of acute respiratory viral infections were recorded in Ukraine, of which 104,843 were among children. This is 13% more than the previous week, but the figures remain within the seasonal norm.
The agency explained that the increase in the incidence of ARVI is caused by the circulation of influenza viruses in 22 regions of the country. And given the weekly monitoring data, it is predicted that the influenza virus will prevail over the coronavirus infection until April.
