The Lithuanian Embassy building was damaged during Russia’s massive attack on Kyiv overnight on August 1. None of the diplomatic mission’s staff members were injured.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reported the incident.
According to Sybiha, the embassy building sustained minor damage. The minister published photographs and video showing the aftermath of the attack.
Sybiha stressed that Russian terror spares no one and violates international law, including the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
“It can only be stopped through strength and sufficient air defense capabilities,” the minister said.
He expressed solidarity with Lithuania, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys, Ambassador Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė and the country’s diplomatic service. Ukraine is ready to provide the diplomatic mission with all necessary assistance.
Russia launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine overnight on August 1, using 35 missiles and 185 attack drones. The Kyiv region was the primary target.
Damage and fires were reported in five districts of the capital. According to the latest figures, nine people were killed and another 30 were injured, including four children.
