Ukraine has received 21 Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers from Latvia. The transfer of the vehicles took place today at the Adazi military base in Riga.
This was announced by Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Smyhal.
The vehicles will immediately be put into service with the Special Operations Forces. In total, Ukraine received all 42 promised armored vehicles from Latvia in 2025.
“I would like to thank Defense Minister Andris Spruds, the Latvian government, and all Latvians for their extraordinary level of support,” Smyhal wrote.
In addition, Latvia transferred 12 more CVR(T) combat reconnaissance vehicles, which are part of the previously announced military aid package.
Smyhal also thanked Lithuania for its additional contribution of €2.2 million to the PURL initiative and financial assistance to the Shelter Coalition, and noted the important participation of NATO countries in the Renovatar project to rebuild five military rehabilitation centers in Ukraine.
“We are counting on the implementation of financing through a so-called reparations loan from frozen Russian assets. Joint decisive steps are needed on this issue, as it concerns the security of both Ukraine and other European countries,” the Ukrainian defense minister concluded.
