Russian forces attacked Kyiv overnight on November 7, injuring five people, including a 14-year-old child. The capital’s Northern Bridge was damaged, while strikes on energy facilities in Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions caused serious power supply problems, affecting the city’s heating and water systems.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported the developments.

According to Klitschko, Russian strikes damaged energy infrastructure in Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions, disrupting heating and water services in the capital. Energy workers and municipal crews are working to restore services to residents.

The Northern Bridge was also damaged in the attack. Traffic has been closed in both directions while specialists assess the extent of the damage.

“Road maintenance and municipal crews are already working on the Northern Bridge. The road surface, trolleybus overhead wires and a power line have been damaged. The blast wave also damaged five trucks parked near the bridge,” Klitschko said.

According to the mayor’s latest figures, five people were injured in the attack, including a 14-year-old child. Two of the injured were hospitalized.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) reported destruction and fires in Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district.

At one location, the facade of the ground floor of a five-story residential building was partially destroyed. No fire broke out, and no casualties were reported at the site.

The blast wave also shattered windows in three other five-story residential buildings. According to emergency responders, one person was injured.

A two-story building on the grounds of a kindergarten was also destroyed.

At another location, a parked truck and a non-residential building caught fire. Firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Two more people, including a child, were injured at two other locations. At the time of the SES report, three injuries had been confirmed. Klitschko later updated the total to five people injured across the capital.
