Ukrainian athletes Lyudmyla Luzan and Iryna Fedoriv won the gold medal at the World Canoe Sprint Championships, which is taking place in Milan, Italy.
This was reported by the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.
In the final of the women’s C-2 500m event, Lyudmyla Luzan and Iryna Fedoriv finished first with a time of 1:53.30, ahead of the teams from Canada and Spain.
For Lyudmyla Luzan, this marks her fifth world championship gold medal and her second on this distance, while for Iryna Fedoriv, it is her first success at this level, immediately claiming the top spot on the podium.
It should be noted that in June this year, this duo won a silver medal at the European Championships on the same distance, finishing behind the Spanish team, who took bronze today.
