On August 2, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck Russian military targets in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. As a result of the operation, the Russian occupation forces’ S-300 anti-aircraft missile system was destroyed by long-range fire.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The elimination of this target significantly reduces the enemy’s long-range firepower and diminishes its ability to shell the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and civilian infrastructure in the region, the report said.
As noted by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this strike confirms the accuracy of Ukrainian units in detecting and destroying critical enemy targets, particularly in temporarily occupied territories.
The General Staff emphasizes that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are systematically destroying key elements of Russia’s military potential, which significantly weakens the occupiers’ ability to conduct combat operations, hold captured territories, and support the occupation administrations.
