Two 20-year-old citizens of Ukraine were kidnapped in Wrocław. The young men were held in the basement of a building in the Old Town, and the kidnappers have already been charged.

This was reported by the publication In Poland.

According to the police, at the end of May the perpetrators, under the pretext of providing a service, lured one of the young men to a courtyard on Bardzka Street and the other to a parking lot on Szwedzka Street. There, the young men were forced into cars and taken to the basement of a restaurant in the Old Town.

The kidnappers threatened the Ukrainians and used physical violence against them. They forced the young men to provide passwords to banking applications and to borrow money from friends. The goal was to extort as much money as possible from the captives.

The police identified those involved and later arrested four men. They are citizens of Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Tunisia aged between 25 and 30.

All of them will be charged with unlawful deprivation of liberty with particular cruelty, robbery, extortion and assault. All four were taken into custody. The detainees face up to 25 years in prison.
