On September 21, in the temporarily occupied Crimea, fighters from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense’s special forces unit “Primorye” destroyed two Russian Be-12 Chaika amphibious aircraft. This is the first time such anti-submarine aircraft have been destroyed in history. A Mi-8 helicopter was also destroyed during the raid.

This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“Be-12 Chaika amphibious aircraft are equipped with expensive equipment for detecting and combating submarines,” the Main Intelligence Directorate said.
