On April 22, around 7:00 a.m., an accident involving a bus with Ukrainian registration occurred in Bulgaria near the Malko Tarnovo border crossing on the border with Turkey. At least two people were killed in the incident, and 16 Ukrainian citizens were injured.

This was reported by Bulgarian National Radio.

According to preliminary reports, the bus stopped on a slope because it ran out of fuel, after which it began rolling backward and struck people waiting behind it. The most seriously injured are being transported to the regional hospital in Burgas; at least eight of them are in critical condition.

The other victims, including children, have been taken to a day center for the elderly in the border town. All of them are receiving the necessary care.

It is reported that there were more than 37 Ukrainian refugees on the bus, who live in Burgas and were heading to Turkey on an excursion.

One of the bus drivers has been detained; he is currently at the Malko Tarnovo District Police Department.
