Analyst Jeff Pu has revealed five new features that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to receive. The details were reported by MacRumors, citing a research note for GF Securities.
The iPhone 18 Pro models could feature a smaller Dynamic Island, as Face ID components are reportedly being moved under the display. This change would reduce the size of the screen cutout.
The main 48-megapixel Fusion camera is rumored to gain a variable aperture, allowing users to control how much light reaches the sensor and providing greater depth-of-field control.
The devices are expected to be powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s 2nm process, compared to the 3nm A19 Pro. The iPhone 18 Pro models may also include Apple’s next-generation N2 wireless chip, replacing the N1 chip that supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread.
In addition, the smartphones are expected to feature Apple’s third-generation C2 cellular modem for 5G and LTE connectivity.
Apple is likely to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September.
