        Drones attack Moscow region, damaging homes, Wildberries warehouse and substation

        The Moscow region came under a large-scale drone attack overnight on August 18. According to regional governor Andrei Vorobyov, more than 150 UAVs were shot down over the region.

        According to Vorobyov, drones were intercepted in Bogorodsky, Ramensky, Pavlovsky Posad, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Voskresensk, Stupino, Kolomna and Elektrostal.

        Three people were injured in the attack. In the Ramensky district, a 10-year-old girl suffered a shrapnel wound to her hand after a drone fell on a private house and was hospitalized. In the Bogorodsky district, a woman needed medical assistance after being injured by falling drone debris. A 27-year-old man was injured in Kolomna.

        The most serious consequences, according to the governor, were recorded in the Pavlovo-Posadsky district. A private house in the village of Kuznetsy was completely destroyed by fire. In Pavlovsky Posad, the roof of an apartment building caught fire and residents were evacuated. Another fire broke out in a building on 1 Maya Street.

        In the Bogorodsky district, two private houses in the Albatros gardening community were damaged, while a guest house caught fire in Noginsk. In addition, a drone struck a Wildberries warehouse near Atlant Park. The fire was contained, and preliminary reports indicated there were no casualties.

        In Kolomna, a shopping pavilion near the Globus shopping centre caught fire after drone debris fell. A registry office building, a shop and windows of a residential building on Sovetskaya Square were also damaged.

        In Kotelniki, scaffolding and insulation materials caught fire at a residential complex under construction. In Elektrostal, a car and a transformer substation were damaged, while a private house in the Ramenye gardening community was damaged in the Ramensky district.

        Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin repeatedly reported drones being shot down during the night. At around 6:00 a.m., he said air defence forces had destroyed 93 UAVs.
