Passengers on the Ufa–St. Petersburg flight have been unable to leave the aircraft for more than seven hours due to a drone attack threat. The flight was initially delayed by 20 minutes but eventually departed. However, upon approaching St. Petersburg, the plane was redirected to Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport.
The passengers have now spent about two hours on the tarmac in Moscow, adding to a total of over seven hours since departure. They have only been provided with water and no proper food.
Meanwhile, disruptions at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg continue, with over 100 flights delayed. According to the governor of Leningrad Oblast, Alexander Drozdenko, more than ten drones were shot down in the region. In a later update, he stated that the number had increased but gave no exact figure.
Falling drone debris has been reported in Gatchina, Voiskovitsy, Kingiseppsky District, and the industrial zone in Primorsk. In Lomonosovsky District, fragments caused a fire in a residential area, injuring a woman.
Due to airspace restrictions, around 50 outbound and 60 inbound flights are currently delayed at Pulkovo. Many passengers are now lying on the floors of the terminal, preparing for a long wait.
