A massive overnight Russian drone attack caused significant damage to an electrical substation in Kharkiv and hit residential areas in three districts. Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that four people were killed and 17 injured, including two children.

According to him, Russian forces struck the Shevchenkivskyi, Saltivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, several drones hit a multi-storey residential building and nearby private homes, damaging cars, facades and blowing out windows. Power lines and city lighting cables were also hit. A mobile administrative service center (CNAP) has been deployed in the area, and at least one resident requires relocation.
In the Saltivskyi district, explosions occurred next to residential buildings in both high-rise and private sectors. The blast wave shattered windows in a local school. Another mobile CNAP will operate there from a kindergarten facility.
According to the mayor, the city’s electrical substation suffered severe destruction and will require urgent repair.
In the Kholodnohirskyi district, civilian businesses, warehouses and small enterprises were damaged. Nearly every impact site saw large-scale fires.
In total, 40 residential buildings ended up in the affected area, with more than 500 windows shattered. Additional inspections are still underway. Throughout the night, rescue teams, medics, police and municipal workers continued emergency operations at the strike sites.
Terekhov thanked all the emergency responders and expressed condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the latest Russian attack.
