Due to the actions of individual officers in the 102nd separate territorial defence brigade, there is a risk of losing Huliaipole. In particular, this involves inciting fighters to leave their positions without permission, as well as spreading Russian-origin disinformation among activists. This was reported by the DeepState monitoring Telegram channel.
DeepState notes that recently, soldiers of the 102nd Territorial Defence Brigade were mistakenly taken for enemy assault troops, which almost led to artillery fire being opened on their positions. Only thanks to a timely check of the unit’s affiliation was friendly fire avoided.
According to the channel, units of the 1st Separate Assault Regiment, 225th and 33rd Separate Assault Regiments, as well as the battalion tactical group of the 154th Separate Mechanised Brigade and the 25th Border Guard Detachment are currently trying to stabilise the situation in this area. At the same time, DeepState emphasises that without a full-fledged brigade capable of holding a specific section of the defence, these measures may prove insufficient. It is also noted that the losses in the assault units at the end of November were significantly higher than they could have been under the conditions of a coordinated retreat.
The channel reports that there is a group of officers in the 102nd Brigade who encourage unauthorised abandonment of positions. At the same time, according to available information, the brigade lacks a complete understanding of the situation in neighbouring units, which creates a false impression of the situation on the flanks. At the same time, company commanders are trying to keep personnel in their positions by setting an example, with wounded commanders remaining directly on the front line.
Separately, DeepState draws attention to the spread among activists of Russian-made videos stylised as internal conflicts between Ukrainian military personnel. According to the channel’s assessment, such materials are fake, but they create additional tension and anxiety among the families of servicemen who are on the front line.
