The European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN – fr. Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire) will stop cooperation with Russian scientists from November 30.

As SWI Swissinfo reports, it is about 350 scientists from Russia.

CERN is known worldwide for the Large Hadron Collider, the largest experimental facility in the world.

About 10,000 scientists from 100 countries, including Russia, are involved in its construction and research.

The organisation announced that CERN would not extend the agreement with Russia in December 2023. CERN agreement with Belarus expired in June this year.

In March 2022, after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, CERN suspended Russia’s observer status. 23 member states of the organisation ‘strongly condemned’ the Russian aggression.
