Canada is preparing a new $900 million support package for Ukraine, which is intended to strengthen protection against Russian missiles and drones. The countries are also working on a Drone Deal agreement and cooperation in the fields of defense, security and resilience.

This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to him, Ukraine is primarily focused on ensuring that there is more air defense.

“Protecting life is the main thing, and Russian strikes with ballistics, other missiles, and drones are terror that must be overcome together with partners,” Zelenskyy said.

The president thanked Canada and Mark Carney personally for understanding this. Zelenskyy also reported that Ukraine and Canada are preparing an agreement in the Drone Deal format.

“This is not only about drones, but also about a system of new and effective security, real tools tested by this war. It will definitely be useful,” the president noted.

During the meeting with Mark Carney, the parties also discussed the diplomatic situation. Zelenskyy shared ideas on how to bring peace closer and create real interest in negotiations in Russia.

Canada also invited Ukraine to become a founding state of a bank in the field of defense, security and resilience. This bank will work on attracting capital and developing defense-industrial potential and technologies tested in real combat conditions.
