The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed Yulia Hnatiuk as acting head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory (UINM). The government’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, announced this on Telegram.
Earlier last week, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Anton Drobovych from the post of head of the UINM due to the end of his term in December. Drobovych said that he did not plan to continue his work in this position and would focus on investigating Russia’s crimes against Ukrainian cultural heritage.
Yulia Hnatiuk was appointed first deputy head of the UINM in May 2024. She holds a master’s degree in economics with a specialisation in accounting and auditing, which she obtained from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2011. Since 2009, she has held various positions in accounting departments. At the end of 2021, she joined the UINM team as the Chief Accountant of the Financial, Accounting and Technical Support Department.
