At the meeting with Austin, Umerov called for investment in Ukraine’s defence production

Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has invested more than $4 billion in its own defence production.

This was announced by Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umerov at a briefing with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin.

‘Our drones have become a real threat to the enemy. They can hit targets thousands of kilometres away and have already destroyed more than 200 military facilities in Russia,’ Umerov said.

He stressed that Ukraine’s defence production potential could be close to $20 billion, but investments from international partners are needed.

‘We call on our American partners to invest in our defence production, both with financing and the transfer of modern technologies,’ Umerov said.
