During Russia’s overnight mass strike on Ukraine, analysts recorded the passage of at least three Chinese reconnaissance satellites over the country’s western regions. The report was published by the Ukrainian defense outlet Militarnyi.
According to the publication, the satellites were observing Ukrainian airspace simultaneously with Russian drone and missile attacks. They passed at low Earth orbit, which allows for the capture of detailed, high-resolution imagery.
Experts suggest that the presence of Chinese reconnaissance satellites over Ukraine may indicate possible intelligence cooperation between China and Russia, including the sharing of satellite data on air defense systems, troop movements, and flight activity.
