Apple is testing a new foldable iPhone model featuring a flip-style, clamshell design. According to MacRumors, the information comes from a well-known Asia-based leaker.

Weibo user Fixed Focus Digital, citing supply chain sources, claims that Apple has been testing a flip-style foldable iPhone. Such a device would compete with models like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the modern Motorola Razr.

The leaker says this version is being explored alongside a wider foldable iPhone that is rumored to launch later this year. However, a final decision on mass production of the flip-style model has reportedly not yet been made.

Earlier, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said Apple is “exploring” the idea of a square, clamshell-style foldable iPhone. According to him, this device would be released after Apple’s first book-style foldable iPhone, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Rumors suggest that Apple’s first foldable iPhone will feature a 7.8-inch crease-free inner display, a 5.5-inch cover display, Touch ID, two rear cameras, the A20 chip, and the C2 modem. It is expected to launch in the fall alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
