Russian troops are using the territory of Belarus and other countries to fly attack drones into Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Yuriy Ignat, head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command.
According to available data, the Russians are using the territories of Moldova, the unrecognized Transnistria, Romania, and Belarus to fly drones.
Ignat noted that Russian drones sometimes fly without crossing Ukrainian territory, bypassing potential strike zones. He also suggested that towers or repeaters may be located on Belarusian territory to assist in controlling the drones.
“We have frequently observed drones flying one after another toward our western regions directly along the border with Belarus. To make them more resistant to electronic warfare suppression and to ensure more drones get through, the enemy is likely using assistance from a neighboring state to allow the drones to fly unimpeded,” the report states.
Earlier reports indicated that Russia may be establishing bases in Belarus to launch long-range drones.
