As of 4:00 p.m. on September 28, the total number of combat clashes along the entire frontline stands at 44, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. For comparison, at the same time yesterday, 82 clashes had been recorded.
Russian forces continue shelling border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions. The settlements of Halahanivka, Rudenka, Novovasylivka, Studenok, Sosnivka, Starykove, and Bila Bereza came under artillery fire.
On the Northern Slobozhanske and Kursk axes, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks. The enemy also carried out three airstrikes, dropping six guided bombs, and launched 71 artillery strikes, including six with multiple-launch rocket systems.
On the Southern Slobozhanske axis, two attacks were repelled near Vovchansk and Ambarne, while one clash is ongoing. The Kupiansk axis saw no offensive actions today.
On the Lyman axis, Russian troops attacked three times near Kolodiazi, Torske, and in the direction of Stavky. On the Siversk axis, Ukrainian forces repelled four enemy assaults near Fedorivka, Serebrianka, and toward Yampil and Dronivka.
On the Kramatorsk axis, one attack was repelled near Predtechyne. On the Toretsk axis, five Russian assaults were recorded near Shcherbynivka, Stepanivka, Pleshchiivka, Poltavka, and Rusynyi Yar, with two clashes still ongoing.
The most intense fighting continues on the Pokrovsk axis – 18 attacks were recorded near Chervonyi Lyman, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and toward Myrnohrad, Rodynske, and Balahan. One engagement is still in progress.
On the Novopavlivka axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy assaults near Ternove and toward Andriivka-Klevtsove, with one clash still ongoing. On the Huliaipole axis, two enemy assaults near Poltavka are being repelled, while Russian aviation struck Zaliznychne and Novoselivka.
On the Orikhiv axis, no offensive actions were recorded. On the Prydniprovsk axis, the enemy made two unsuccessful assaults, suffering losses, and struck the settlement of Olhivka with air power.
